They may ice fish, go cross county skiing, snowmobile or just stay at a cabin on an island, or if you are lucky enough, all of the above. With so many lake-related activities during the winter on Lake Vermilion, it is very important to take into consideration [...] An avid fishermen and a retired professor from the University of Minnesota has written a children’s book about a walleye. It has wonderful illustrations and teaches some important lessons in life. It would make a great gift to those young children who like to fish or a great reading selection for your cabin. The Lake Vermilion area has several talented artists. One of them, Nancy Luloff, creates very unique and beautiful wildlife and scenery original oil paintings. Her work includes wall murals, decorative painted paddles and and original paintings on glass bottles. She paints many wildlife scenes, including loons, moose and ducks.
