This week Governor Pawlenty announced that the
State of Minnesota and U.S. Steel came to an agreement for the purchase of 3,000 acres of  land on the Eastern side of Lake Vermilion.  The proposed Park will provide public recreational facilities on one of the most pristine lakes in Minnesota.  This is a very unusual and rare deal between a private land owner and the State of Minnesota.  To view more information on this project and its progress, please visit the Minnesota DNR site dedicated to this project.
